About Me

Born and raised in Washington, DC, I grew up with a love of three things: movies, music and fiction. By the time I was in high school, reading a novel a week, I set my intention on being a novelist. However, when I graduated college, I decided to combine my love of movies and writing, moved to LA, and earned a Master’s degree in screenwriting from The American Film Institute.

I then spent the next twenty years in the entertainment business, doing everything from reading scripts to writing for television. I loved collaborating with other writers in the writers’ room, but the last few years I spent in Hollywood, I had been hearing the call of therapy, beckoning me to change career paths. Returning to school in your forties is not easy, but becoming a therapist has been uniquely rewarding.  It’s gratifying to use my life experience in the entertainment industry to better understand my artistic clients, as I am able to help them navigate both their own creative process, and the crazy business side of things. I get it, like few people can.

I live with my son and girlfriend, and two random cats, in North Hollywood.  I still love books movies and music.
